Day 1: Errachidia Airport → Ziz Valley → Erfoud → Merzouga → Sahara Dunes Camp

Pickup: At your flight arrival time — your driver will be waiting with a name sign at Errachidia Moulay Ali Cherif Airport (ERH)

Your Berber driver greets you at the airport and helps load your luggage into a private, air-conditioned 4×4 vehicle. After a brief introduction and cold water, the journey begins south toward the Sahara.

Within 30 minutes, you enter the spectacular Ziz Valley — a deep river gorge lined with over a million date palm trees. The scenery is dramatic: red canyon walls rising on both sides, lush green oases below, and small Berber villages clinging to the hillsides. Stop at the famous Ziz Gorge viewpoint for panoramic photos and a moment to take in this extraordinary landscape.

Continue south through Erfoud, a market town known worldwide for its 350-million-year-old marine fossils. If time allows, your driver can arrange a brief visit to a fossil marble workshop where you’ll see ancient ammonites and orthoceras preserved in polished stone.

Arrive at the edge of Erg Chebbi — the towering golden sand dunes of Merzouga — in the late afternoon. Your host at Sahara Dunes Camp welcomes you with traditional mint tea and dates.

Late afternoon: Mount your camel for a sunset camel trek into the heart of the dunes. Watch the desert transform from golden to deep amber as the sun sets over the Sahara.

Evening: Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner at camp — tagine, salads, and homemade bread — followed by drumming, music, and stargazing around the campfire.

Day 2: Return Transfer — Sahara Dunes Camp → Errachidia Airport

Morning: Wake before dawn for the Sahara sunrise — climb a nearby dune and watch the first light set the sand on fire. Return to camp for a leisurely breakfast.

After breakfast and checkout, your driver takes you directly back to Errachidia Airport for your departure flight. The return drive follows the same scenic route through the Ziz Valley, with a stop if needed.
